A few years ago I taught in the science department of the Academy.  My daughter (now 3.7 years) and I are big fans of your music.  Dara's favorites are The Islanders and The Girl Who Loved Shoes.  I like that you use relatively sophisticated vocabulary and imagery for kid's music.  Now and then, I pause the CD and explain a line or two.  Yesterday we were driving through Sinks Canyon when I pointed out a woman who was rock climbing.  Dara said, "She's Shining" (referencing your song of that name from "Starfishing"). It is a real pleasure to have music that appeals to both kids and their parents.  When I was in Albuquerque, Danny, Ruth, Kinchin, Dara, Brenda, and myself used to dance wildly areound Bear Canyon to "Lard".  (Ruth does a memorable "experiment!!! - Explore!!!).  Keep up the good work.   JC

It’s really a delight to find a group doing children’s music that is both musically and verbally sophisticated, full of fun ideas, musical twists, and vocabulary that assumes children are curious and willing to learn.  Your songs are as interesting for adults as for kids, and so of course even a very little child enjoys them.  So much of the music and literature aimed at children these days is simplified to the point of boredom and inanity.  What you've done is delightful. . .
